I first came to see Eva for back pain, but she is now treating me for acne, menstrual cramps and bloating, muscular tension and stress. She provides an individualized treatment for her patients and in turn creates a holistic environment and comfort zone. I can come for treatments when I am in desperate pain, or even if I just need to relax from every day anxieties. PAIN MANAGEMENT

SCIATICA PAIN
For almost six months,
I suffered from muscle spasms, tenderness, and pain which involved the
lower part of my body from the sacral area down to below the knee. The
problem started as sciatica; the acute sciatica pain subsided, but left
me with persistent muscular discomfort. I first visited a chiropractor
and this treatment helped with the acute sciatica, but did nothing to
relieve the underlying muscular problem. Subsequent to this, I was treated
by an MD who specializes in the management of chronic pain. He gave me
trigger point injections with Lidocaine/Decadron, and he also prescribed
physical therapy (heat, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, massage, and
exercise). These modalities resulted in some improvement, but I still
was not where I felt I needed to be. Then, even though I was somewhat
skeptical of the benefits, I tried acupuncture by Evangelina Jacobson.
Within a short while I experienced a marked improvement in discomfort,
to the point where I am without discomfort most of the time and able to
do so much more than I have been able to for months! Mrs. Jacobson is
professional and thorough in her approach, and I feel that my recent improvement
can be attributed to her treatment of my problem with acupuncture as well
as with heat d, electro-acupuncture. Thank you, Mrs. Jacobson, for your

POST SURGICAL PAIN DUE TO SCAR TISSUE
Having had back surgery about 7 months ago, and still having to rely on medications for pain relief, I sought out the help of Eva. One day in September, I was in so much pain that I found Acupuncture Yin Yang in the phone book. Eva scheduled me right away. I was a slight bit reserved about having these treatments as I had had acupuncture before, but my experience has changed the way I look at acupuncture.
I have been seeing Eva for acupuncture treatments for two months now and have notice a remarkable change in my pain. I do not need to take my prescribed medications on most days now, nor do I feel the muscular tension or throbbing pains in my back and legs. Not only have I noticed a change in my pain levels, I now have a new sense of well-being. My entire body just feels better
Although I am no
where near understanding how the treatments work, I just know that they
do. Each time I go for a treatment I feel so relaxed and almost euphoric,
but of course in a more natural sense than the medications could ever
provide. Eva makes sure that I am as comfortable as possible while being
treated. She looks after her patients as a mother looks after her child,
with deep concern for how I am feeling each and every time I see her.

PAIN DUE CAR ACCIDENT
I was undergoing massage
therapy for the treatment of injuries I sustained in a car accident. There
wasn’t a single day that I did not have pain in my back, neck, hips,
arms and legs. At one point the inflammation in my lower back was so bad,
I could not even get up our chair or bed without someone lifting me.
Even the chiropractor I was seeing was at a loss. My massage therapist
recommended acupuncture treatments and gave me Eva’s number.
Eva’s treatments
were the best thing I could have done. She was able to help with the inflammation
in my lower back, the muscle spasms that were in almost every part of
my body and help me regain a semblance of a normal life. As a Certified
Chinese Herbologist she was able to provide me with additional care which
helped in many ways including helping me relax and to sleep. She has been
the kindest, most patient person. Her professionalism and her caring are
unmatched. No one was able to help me with the physical problems I was
having the way she was. Words can not express how grateful I am to her.

On MAY 2, 2003 I sustained a significant car accident leaving me with severe muscle trauma which prevented mostly any movement in my entire body. Initially, I could barely lift myself out of bed. The medical doctors prescribed medications which offered minimum relief for the pain, rendered me an exhausted “zombie” as well as gave me no movement. After one month I was desperate for any form of treatment which would help and decided to try acupuncture.
Through the Yellow Pages I was fortunate to find Eva. She immediately squeezed me in and with her caring, gentle disposition I was introduced to acupuncture and electrical stimulation.
She took her time with a thorough examination, testing movements and muscles for a customized treatment. After this first visit, I was able to walk and move with more ease as well as the pain subsided a little. Every visit to Eva is an adventure. First questions and exam to decide how the treatment will proceed that day and then we begin.

I became a patient of Evangelina Jacobson in February 2001. I had been misdiagnosed for over one year with cancer and when it was time for treatment I chose to do only radiation and sought out an acupuncturist.
When I began radiation Eva began to treat me with acupuncture for pain, and to build up my immune system. She continued to treat me during my radiation. The oncologist could not believe how well I did and attributed it to the acupuncture as I did not suffer any side effects of radiation.

ASTHMA
I developed asthma at the age of 25. For 20 years, despite avoiding irritants, the practice of vigorous exercise, and a healthy lifestyle, I depended upon my inhaler for evening relief and episodes induced by cold, chemicals, or sustained running. After 3 months of treatment with Chinese herbs, I was amazed to find that I was able to sleep through the night without my inhaler. BREATHING DIFFICULTIES
My fiancé suggested
Eva’s herbal treatments. I was having difficulty with my breathing
and excess phlegm. As an Herbologist, Eva was able to give me various
teas which help clear the congestion I had which in turn solved my breathing
problem. And as an extra bonus, my fiancé says that while I was
under Evas’s care, her teas stopped my snoring.
RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS
As I am a bed board arthritic who had limited use of my hands and arms, the treatments given by Eva were most effective so that I can function by myself in the use of my TV remote control, bed remote control, and cell phone. It enabled me to function on my own without always depending on somebody else for doing small things for me. It gave me a sense of independence that I have been without for quite a while. ENT
When I first met Eva I had recently been diagnosed by an ENT with a viral infection in my right vestibular nerve. For about three months prior to coming to Eva I had suffered numerous symptoms including dizziness, loss of balance, difficulty in concentrating and tunnel vision. In addition, everything I looked at seemed to have a yellow tint to it. By this time I had seen several physicians and had undergone numerous tests in order to rule out certain diseases, illnesses and brain disorders. The only conclusive test was a VNG which concluded that I had a vestibular disorder known as vestibular neuritis. Upon this diagnosis, every doctor I saw and all of the research I read told me that the only remedy for vestibular neuritis was to take meclizine (which did nothing but make me tired), try physical therapy and simply let the viral infection run it’s course (which I was told could take up to two years). Being completely dissatisfied with these recommendations, I made an appointment with Eva. My first appointment lasted almost three hours and in that time I learned that Eva was genuinely concerned about my symptoms and really wanted to help me get better. I don’t remember the exact time frame (did I mention that the disorder also affected my memory?), but after about two acupuncture sessions and about a week on an herbal formula, I noticed a clear difference in my symptoms and for the first time in months, I slowly but surely started getting my life back. I was no longer confined to my apartment on the weekends and I was able to be social again, go to the gym, concentrate and start acting like myself.
The recovery was not overnight, and now after several months of going to acupuncture and taking herbal formulas, while I am still in recovery, I look back and wonder how I was ever able to even make it to work on a daily basis. I once told Eva during a treatment that she was my savior. She laughed, and I am not sure if she is aware of the important role she played, not just in my physical health, but my mental health as well. In the three months leading up to the time that I met Eva, I had become somewhat discouraged and although I am an extremely positive person, I knew that this illness had taken over my life and had the capability of making me become clinically depressed. Eva gave me hope, was genuine and really cared about how I was feeling on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Because of Eva’s experience, education and caring bedside manner, I have a significant amount of respect for her and I offer my highest recommendations to her and her practice.
